4.June Candle:

This image was designed for the 4th of June. For Tarka Accord, the 4th of June is considered to be an important date due to St. Petroc's Day and the commemoration of the Tiananmen Square Massacre both occurring on the day. These two events are not related to each other in any way with the exceptions of them happening to occur on the same day and both being important to Tarka Accord for different reasons.

St. Petroc's Day is the 'Saint's Day' for Devon, we at Tarka Accord wanted to mark the occasion out of pride and love for our home.

The connection to the Tiananmen Square Massacre is less obvious. Pro-democracy movements where a significant inspiration leading the founding of Tarka Accord and so, although the Tiananmen Square Massacre and Protest weren't the specific inspirational event, it was decided that honouring the movement and commemorating those killed when already marking the occasion would be appropriate.

About the design of the image, the colours of the St. Petroc's Cross (Devonshire Flag) can be clearly seen with a small version of the cross used within the design itself. Aside from the colours and the included cross, the rest of the design was made to resemble a candle cradled within a cup; it was designed to be so to commemorate the massacre at Tiananmen Square, of which candlelit vigils are an important part of the remembrance for.
