Introduction
The Tarka Accord Democratic Forum was created by Tarka Accord in order to bring democracy more into the hands of the public by way of creating a framework that welcomes members of the public in North Devon to contribute towards it. Our goal is for this to become a widely known and used way of airing issues or ideas with us – for us to then use that information and further collaboration in order to create publicly endorsed policies and suggestions to present to the government or to enact directly as the government.
A Community of Collaboration
Our goal with the Tarka Accord Democratic Forum is not simply to allow individuals to communicate with us directly, but to foster communities either within or connected to Tarka Accord that internally converse amongst themselves. We believe that creating these communities will allow for a natural sense of camaraderie to build, contribute to the quality of suggestions, and aid in easier communication with the public through Tarka Accord’s connection to these communities. Regarding the creation of these communities: Tarka Accord not only provides internal versions available to join but would also like to warmly invite any to create their own small communities under the ‘Tarka Accord’ umbrella and become a part of an expanding network.

For an invitation to a community within the TADF Network, please note that Tarka Accord is - as of the 22nd of February, 2025 - working on the establishment of internal communities within the organisation. Two platforms likely to be used for this are Facebook and Discord - although others will also be considered.
